Rastafarian Square Dance

(John McGie/Jon Lundquist)

RASTAFARIAN SQUARE DANCE

Pick a pretty lady
Bring her into the square
Take her by the hand
Compliment her hair
Ala man left
And dosy-doe
Here the piggy squeal
As you step on their toes

Oo –
It’s the Rastafarian Square Dance
Oo –
Do the Rastafarian Square Dance

All a man a left
All the ladies on the right
Come into da middle
And you don’ start a fight
The girl go up
The girl go down
Make a naughty noise
Pass the ganja all around

Ladies turn around
Put your hands in the air
Da men shake da bottoms
Like they had something there
Take a little puff
Den you take a little more
Try and hold your breath
Till you pass out on the floor

I shot the sheriff
But he didn’t mind
Didn’t shoot the deputy
But I will next time
The sun is always shining
Even at night
If it weren’t always shining
I’d probably be white
